Taxi driver remanded to prison on attempted murder charge

Inside the storyA taxi driver was today remanded to prison on an attempted murder charge. Twenty – six – year old Charles Telford of Eccles East Bank Demerara was not required to plead to the capital offence.

The court was told that on December 20, 2012 at Sheriff Street Georgetown Telford, with intention to commit a murder; unlawfully and maliciously wounded Chetram Persaud. The prosecutor told the Court that Telford attacked Persaud and dealt him several chops about his body. The Magistrate remanded Telford to prison until September 06. [Royan Abrams]
