A motorcar driver was killed on Tuesday morning following a collision involving a heavy-duty lorry along the Nigg Public Road, Corentyne, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).
The dead man has been identified as Joshua Crawford, who was the lone occupant of the motorcar at the time of the crash.
Information reaching Inews is that Crawford was pulled from the badly damaged vehicle in an unconscious condition following the collision.
He was subsequently rushed to the Port Mourant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The impact of the collision left the motorcar extensively damaged, with sections of the vehicle mangled and debris scattered in the vicinity of the crash.
Details surrounding how the collision occurred were not immediately available.
Police are expected to provide information as investigations continue.
