Construction of the new $189M Juvenile Justice Processing Centre is progressing, with the facility on track for completion by December 2026.

On Monday, Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Dr Vindhya Persaud, inspected works on at the facility, located along the Eccles to Ogle Highway.

The centre will provide a supportive space for young people who may be having problems with the law, giving them the opportunity to reset, rebuild and move forward through counselling, mentorship, faith-based support and positive guidance.

“The facility is all about helping young people make better choices and get back on the right track,” the ministry said in a statement.
