Woman dies in GPHC after emergency C-section

Hours after undergoing an emergency C-section to deliver her third child at the Georgetown Public Hospital on Tuesday, a Kuru Kururu woman succumbed to her injuries.

Dead is Sattie De Jesus, 35, of 477 Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

Her husband, Odin De Jesus, recounted that his wife started to experience stomach pains on Monday but it continued into the night. It was then they made a decision to rush her to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where she was admitted and based on an examination, a C-section was recommended.

This was done on Tuesday morning and she died a few hours later. Her baby girl remains hospitalized at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
