Police are investigating an alleged Robbery Under Arms which occurred on Tuesday August 11, 2026, about 10:45hrs at a casino situated at Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, during which GY$1,340,000 in cash was stolen.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 26-year-old cashier of Tuschen had opened the establishment for business when a male entered and requested online top-up.
While the cashier was conducting the transaction, the suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at her and instructed her not to make any noise. He then went behind the counter and allegedly removed GY$1,340,000 in cash.
The suspect subsequently exited the establishment and escaped on a waiting motorcycle with an accomplice.
Several persons were questioned. CCTV cameras were seen in the area and will be reviewed.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.
