Police in Regional Division # 3 are investigating an alleged incident which occurred on Monday August 10, 2026, about 20:30hrs at Policeman Corner, Westminster, West Bank Demerara, involving a 25-year-old Quality Health Safety and Environment Officer of Phase One, Westminster, WBD and a 29-year-old Police Constable of Parfaite Harmonie, WBD.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the 25-year-old man was standing along the roadway with several persons when a motor car reportedly approached the area and allegedly came close to colliding with his motorcycle.
An exchange subsequently ensued, during which the 29-year-old Police Constable allegedly exited the vehicle, lifted his jersey and held onto what appeared to be a firearm at his waist, causing the persons present to become fearful.
Acting on information received, ranks intercepted the motor car and contacted the 29-year-old driver, who was identified as a Police Constable.
A search was conducted on the Constable, during which ranks found what appeared to be a toy gun.
The Police Constable was escorted to the La Parfaite Harmonie Police Station, where he was placed under close arrest as investigations continue.
