Unvaccinated woman dies from Covid; death toll now 1240

Guyana has recorded one new COVID-related death, taking the country’s death toll to 1240.

The latest fatality is a 77-year-old woman from Region Four who was unvaccinated.

Meanwhile, the country has recorded 34 new cases of the virus, taking the total positives detected to date to 65,926.

There are two persons in the ICU, 27 in institutional isolation, 951 in home isolation, and six in institutional quarantine.

Recoveries stand at 63,706.
