Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a female officer attached to the Central Police Station at New Amsterdam, Berbice.
The officer, Kenesha Sheriff Fraser of West Coast Berbice, was reportedly killed in an early morning chopping incident with a male suspect.
While details are still sketchy, INews has been reliably informed that the incident took place around 09:00hrs on Thursday at Number 30 Village, West Coast Berbice.
A blood stained cutlass, which is suspected to be the murder weapon, was found a short distance from the victim’s hacked body.
Moreover, this publication has been informed that the suspect may have taken his life as Officers are acting on reports that the body of a male was found hanging.
