Opposition Leader visits Linden, gets warm welcome

…as residents raise issues and concerns affecting them

Former President, now Opposition Leader Dr Bharrat Jagdeo visited Linden in Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice) on Wednesday where he, and his team, met informally with residents, many of whom raised issues and concerns affecting them, their community and the country as a whole.

The Opposition Leader met residents informally in the streets, markets, shops, etc, during a walkabout of the mining town. He also addressed residents as a group and listened to their concerns, giving them the opportunity of having their voices heard.

Accompanying the Opposition Leader were former Minister Robeson Benn and People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) Member of Parliament, Nigel Dharamlall, among others.
