All children accounted for following fire at Plum Park Children’s Home

The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security confirms that a fire at the children’s home in Plum Park has been contained by the Guyana Fire Service.

All children housed at the Plum Park location have been accounted for and evacuated. Those who experienced health issues have been taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation for medical attention. The other children have been relocated to a safe space.

The Ministry continues to monitor the situation closely. The safety, health and welfare of the children remain our immediate priority.

We thank the Guyana Fire Service for its response and all those assisting with the evacuation, care and protection of the children.
