Police destroy ganja farm at Suribana, 1 in custody

Approximately three acres of cultivated cannabis and a camp at Suribana, Essequibo River, were destroyed by fire.
This is according to a release from Police Public Relations and Press Officer, Superintendent Jairam Ramlakhan.
There were approximately 4000 plants measuring from one foot to four feet and several nurseries with over 5000 seedlings, on the plot of land.  
A 20-year-old male of La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, who was caught tending to the prohibited plants, is in custody and will be charged and placed before the court soon.
