32-year-old Stanley Edwards was today charged with the murder of 40-year old Sahadeo Sankar who is a fisherman from Crabwood Creek, Corentyne.
Edwards made his appearance in the Springlands Magistrates Court before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh after he was arrested and arraigned following the incident which occurred on January 3 this year.
Sankar’s lifeless body was discovered in front of a grocery store in the area after he was allegedly beaten to death by Edwards. They were earlier imbibing alcohol together when an argument erupted.
Edwards was remanded to prison until January 29, 2018 after he was not allowed to plea to the indictable charge.
