Hopetown pedestrian fatally struck-down by motor cycle

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Hopetown, West Coast Berbice resident died at about 20:00hrs last night (Saturday, March 15) after being involved in an accident at Hopetown.

Dead is 49 – year –old pedestrian Ted James Da Silva.

According to police, investigations have revealed that Da Silva allegedly attempted to cross the St. John Road and was struck down by a motor cycle. He succumbed while receiving medical treatment at the Fort Wellington Hospital.

The pillion rider on the motor cycle, Roxanne McKenzie of Hopetown, received injuries and was treated at the hospital and sent away.

The driver of the motor cycle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
