The Government of Guyana, through the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA), is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified developers for the design, financing, and construction of a healthcare-focused, mixed-use development hub within Silica City — Guyana’s first smart and sustainable city.
Located north of the Linden–Soesdyke Highway, approximately 40 km from Georgetown and 5 km from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Silica City is envisioned as a modern, climate-resilient urban ecosystem integrating innovation, nature, and smart technology.
According to the CH&PA, the proposed 80-acre healthcare hub will include a state-of-the-art hospital and specialty medical facilities as well as innovation and research centres.
It is also envisioned to include a university campus, a residential development of approximately 580 households, integrated green spaces, parks, and ecological landscapes.
The CH&PA noted that proposals must demonstrate strong environmental sensitivity, efficient land use, and incorporation of renewable energy and smart infrastructure, such as solar panels, EV charging stations, and energy-efficient building systems.
