20-Y-O man succumbs to injuries 1 month after Berbice accident

Dellon Archer, the 20-year-old motorcyclist who was critically injured in an accident on January 24, has passed away.

He died on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the New Amsterdam Hospital.

Archer had remained hospitalised since the crash. He was initially receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of the New Amsterdam Public Hospital after which, he had been transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital and then transferred back again to New Amsterdam.

The accident occurred at around 19:40hrs along the Edinburgh Public Road, East Bank Berbice, Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne).

Archer was reportedly riding his motorcycle at a fast rate when he lost control and crashed into the rear of a stationary motorcar; the young man was not wearing a helmet.
