From improved roads to opportunities for young people, the continued development of Albouystown, Georgetown is about ensuring residents have access to the resources and support they need to move forward.
This is according to Minister within the Ministry of Housing, Vanessa Benn, who made this point during a walkabout and community meeting in Albouystown. She joined Minister of Labour and Manpower Planning, Keoma Griffith, and Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Steven Jacobs.
The engagement brought the Ministers directly to residents, providing an opportunity to hear their concerns and discuss solutions. Minister Benn underscored that opportunities for development are not be limited by where a person lives, emphasising that the Government’s programmes and investments are intended to benefit all Guyanese.
“We are One Guyana, we are One Team…We, as a government are working tirelessly so that the conditions, the environment for every community is improved, we have committed that we are working towards it, and with you, we will achieve it,” she said.
For Albouystown, this commitment includes continued infrastructure improvements, alongside opportunities for residents to build their skills and for young people to pursue their interests and talents. Ministers Griffith and Jacobs highlighted the training, skills development and sporting opportunities available, urging residents to make use of these programmes.
