A so far unidentified woman was killed on Thursday afternoon following an accident on the #67 Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice.
The accident occurred at around 16:00h, involving motor lorries GAF 6180 and GAE 8823.
Based on police reports, the female pedestrian sustained injuries and was taken to the #75 Public Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, eight occupants of motor lorry GAF 6180 were also taken to the hospital, where they are receiving treatment for minor injuries.
The drivers of both motor lorries are in Police custody assisting with the investigations.
Efforts are being made to identify the deceased as the probe continues.
