Venezuela’s former Foreign Minister appointed country’s new UN Rep in Cabinet shake up

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Venezuelan President, Nicolás Maduro, designated Delcy Rodríguez, former minister of communication and information, as Foreign Minister. Recently, Rodríguez was one of the candidates running to become justice of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ). President Maduro made the announcement on Friday via his Twitter account @Nicolasmaduro.

In addition, the President also appointed former Foreign Minister, Rafael Ramírez, new Venezuelan Ambassador to the United Nations (UN). He thanked formed ambassador to the UN, Samuel Moncada, for his work. According to Maduro, the designation of these positions is due to the fact that in January, 2015 Venezuela will take a seat as a non-permanent member on the UN Security Council. [El Universal]
