[www.inewsguyana.com] – The United States Embassy in Georgetown says it is experiencing technical problems with its passport and visa system.

However, this issue is worldwide and is not specific to any particular country, citizenship document, or visa category, the Embassy noted.

“We recognize the inconvenience that this may cause to applicants waiting for visas and passports, but unfortunately when the system goes down, we are unable to print visas, passports and other travel documents.”

The Embassy extended its apologies to applicants who are experiencing delays in obtaining a Passport, Report of Birth Abroad, or Visa at this time.

“We ask that you do not return to the U.S. Embassy to collect your travel documents at this time.”

“We will update our Website and Facebook pages as the technical problems get resolved to advise applicants when they can return to the Embassy to collect their travel documents.”

The Embassy assured that it is working urgently to correct the problem and expect the system to be fully operational again soon.
