Update: Shot mother was robbed $10,000 and a cell phone

gun[www.inewsguyana.com] – Police this morning confirmed that the mother of three, Savitrie Harrichand, who was yesterday shot by an unsuspecting gunman immediately after she completed business at a city bank, was robbed of her handbag with $10,000 and a cell phone.

The 43 – year – old of Tucville H/Scheme, Georgetown, was attacked by a man armed with a firearm at Robb Street and Avenue of the Republic, Georgetown and was shot to her right side during the robbery.

She remains a patient at a city hospital while police continue their investigations.

 

Speaking with iNews yesterday , the woman’s eldest son related that his mother operates a business in the interior and visited the bank, where she withdrew some money.

 

iNews understands that the woman was in the process of purchasing a ‘stew pan’ on Robb Street, Georgetown when she was shot.
