Ross and Wilburg were subsequently arrested the following day, and they both appeared in at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court #2, before Principal Magistrate, Leron Daley, on Friday to answer the charge of Murder in the Furtherance of a Robbery. They were not required to plea and were subsequently remanded to prison.

Additionally, 25-year-old Atelly Gonsalves of Morocut Square, East La Penitence, who was also arrested on Monday last, was charged along with Ross with the offence of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition without License.

They pleaded not guilty, after appearing before Magistrate Leron Daly, in Court to answer the charge.

Atelly Gonsalves was granted bail in the sum of $300,000, while Akande Ross was remanded to prison on the charge.

These matters were adjourned until November 18, 2025.

Police had reported Brewster was in her West Ruimveldt yard at around 23:00h on Sunday when her brother, a 31-year-old businessman returned home on his black XR motorcycle. He was reportedly confronted by two identifiable males, one armed with a handgun who attempted to rob him of his motorcycle and gold chains.

A scuffle ensued between the suspects and the brother, during which Bewster, who was standing in the vicinity was struck by two bullets—one to her upper right arm and another to her left lower chest—after the armed suspect discharged several rounds. She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
