Police are investigating an alleged Robbery Under Arms which occurred on Thursday July 23, 2026, about 14:00hrs at Peters Hall, East Bank Demerara, committed on a 33-year-old businesswoman of the said area.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was at her business place when she was confronted by three masked males, two of whom were reportedly armed with handguns.
One of the suspects allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim and demanded money. The victim’s hands were reportedly bound, after which the suspects relieved her of three Samsung cellular phones, an Acer laptop computer, six Movado watches, a quantity of gold jewellery, GY$5,000,000 cash and US$7,000 cash.
The suspects then escaped in a white old-model Toyota Raum, bearing registration number PLL 1323.
Several persons were questioned. CCTV cameras were seen in the area and are being reviewed.
No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
