Security Guard remanded for possession of marijuana

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 30 – year – old Security Guard, Rawle Brammer, accused of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, was remanded to prison after he made his first court appearance before Magistrate Judy Latchman.

The court heard that on November 19, 2015 at 8th Avenue, Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, he had in his possession 154 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

He was unrepresented and pleaded not guilty to the charge. The prosecution objected to bail, pointing out that no special reasons were stated by the accused for bail not to be granted.

As such, he was remanded to prison and will make his next court appearance on December 14.
