Banks DIH Limited has commissioned a new canning line at its Thirst Park facility, adding production capacity of up to 17,000 cans per hour.
The new installation is part of the company’s malt plant expansion, which was commissioned in January 2026. According to the company, the investment increases its overall beverage production capacity and supports a broader range of packaging options.
The canning line will be used for several of the company’s beverage products, including carbonated soft drinks, Banks Beer, GT Beer, Guinness, Shandy, and Malta Supreme. The upgrade is intended to improve flexibility in packaging formats to meet local and regional demand.
Speaking at the launch, Brew Master Matthew Kendall said the investment is aimed at keeping pace with changing consumer preferences.
“This new canning line is about staying ahead of where our consumers are heading. It gives us the capacity and the flexibility to deliver more of the brands Guyanese love, in the formats they increasingly prefer, without compromising on the quality and consistency Banks DIH is known for,” Kendall said.
The company said the expansion forms part of its ongoing efforts to modernise production systems and strengthen its ability to serve both domestic and export markets.
