Restaurateur shot during robbery; two arrested

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 55-year-old restaurant proprietor was shot during a robbery at his restaurant in Zorg, Essequibo Coast on Wednesday.

Police say that at approximately 20:00hrs on Wednesday November 25, Mohamed Fizool Mohamed was attacked and robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

Police investigations have revealed that Mohamed was at his restaurant when the suspects came up and demanded the jewellery.

During the incident, he was shot to his left foot and the suspects escaped.

While Mohamed has been admitted to the Suddie Hospital, police have managed to arrest two men who are currently assisting with investigations.
