A 27-year-old motorcyclist has died in an accident along the Mibicuri Public Road, Black Bush Polder, Corentyne on Wednesday evening.
Dead is Jermaine Smart of Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, Berbice.
The accident occurred at around 18:30hrs and involved the motorcycle operated by Smart as well as another motorcycle driven by a 14-year-old of Mibicuri.
Police said the motorcycles were travelling in opposite directions along the roadway when a head-on collision occurred.
As a result of the crash, both riders fell onto the road surface; they were taken for medical attention where Smart succumbed to his injuries. The 14-year-old remains hospitalised and his condition is listed as serious.
Investigations are ongoing.
