The new Peoples Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) administration will endeavour to improve access to high quality tertiary education by engaging with private institutions on making their courses either free or more affordable.

This was revealed by President Dr Irfaan Ali today during a consultation on the party’s manifesto.

He explained that with the government having made it tuition-free to study at the University of Guyana, the administration is now exploring ways to ensure private providers are not left behind.

In fact, he said discussions are already underway with private providers – both local and international.
