Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Oneidge Walrond has noted that the Peoples Progressive Party (PPP) believes that the strength of Guyana lies in all of its people.
Speaking at the party’s campaign launch at the Kitty Market Square, Walrond reflected on when she joined the PPP government as a minister in 2020.
Noting that she was never a politician, Walrond explained that the PPP “opened the door and invited me in, not based on favour or friendship, but because the PPP/C believes in inclusion.”
She noted that the PPP believes that governance must reflect “our nation’s rich diversity and that everyone must be represented at the table”.
“If you want to move Guyana forward, there is only one choice come September 1,” Minister Walrond said.
She pointed out that the development taking place across the country is not happening by accident.
Walrond said it is the result of thoughtful planning, smart policies, and a government that listens and a government that believes in building a future where no one is left behind.
“We are only getting started, the best of the transformation is yet to come,” she assured.
