Mugabe refusing to step down

HARARE, Zimbabwe (AFP) — President Robert Mugabe refused to immediately resign during talks on Thursday with generals who have taken control of Zimbabwe, a source close to the army leadership told AFP.

“They met today. He is refusing to step down. I think he is trying to buy time,” said the source, who declined to be named.
