Miners feared drowned

drowning[www.inewsguyana.com] – Two young men are believed to have drowned yesterday (Tuesday, August 5), in the Aranka Creek, Cuyuni.

Missing are 19 year – old Junior Williams and Leon D’Aguiar, both of Georgetown. iNews understands that the young men had been working in the interior for the past three weeks with Miner, Floyd Wade

Wade’s brother, Ivan, told iNews that the young men were travelling across the creek; transporting engine parts to the Aranka Backdam, when one of them fell overboard. The other reportedly tried to save his co – worker but fell into the creek also.

They both are believed to have drowned.

iNews spoke to a relative of Williams, who remains hopeful that the men will be found alive. [Tracey Khan – Drakes]
