An East Coast Demerara (ECD) man was robbed of his jewellery and cash by armed bandits who also stole his motorcycle.
The robbery occurred at around 23:00 hours on Saturday at Melanie Public Road, East Coast Demerara.
At the time, the 43-year-old victim of Non Pariel, ECD, was riding his motorcycle when he observed two motorcycles behind him from the vicinity of the Lusignan traffic light. Upon reaching Melanie Cinema Road and turning into the road, the suspects reportedly followed him.
The suspects eventually rode up alongside the victim and caused him to fall with his motorcycle. One of the suspects then allegedly pulled what appears to be a handgun from his waist and pointed it at the victim, while the others relieved him of a silver metal wedding ring, a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra cellular phone, $60,000 Guyana currency and his black XR motorcycle, bearing registration number CR 6379.
The suspects, who were reportedly masked and clad in dark clothing, then rode away in a southern direction and made good their escape.
According to the police, CCTV cameras were observed along the route and will be reviewed as part of the investigation.
The suspects, who are presently at large, are being sought as investigations continue.
