Man found dead in semi-nude state at Canje

The motionless body of a Canje, Berbice man was earlier this morning discovered on the roadway in a semi-nude condition. Dead is Ramlall Bassant also called ‘Doc’ and ‘Rope’ of Lot 12 Goed Bananen Land, East Canje, Berbice.   He is said to be in his 50’s.

Based on reports received, the unemployed man was discovered lying on the roadway lying face up by a passerby who was on his way to work. The now dead man was last seen at about 20:00h on Wednesday evening leaving his mother’s home.

The police were summoned to the scene and an investigation was launched.
