A West Coast Demerara (WCD) man was on Tuesday arraigned with the murder of 53-year-old Mohammed Shameem Hassan.
Forty-six-year-old, Deonarine Seetaram called “Jericho” appeared before Magistrate Zamina Ali-Seepaul at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court where he was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
It is alleged that on February 9, 2019 at Anna Catherina, Seetaram stabbed Hassan to death.
Inews understands that the duo along with others was imbibing at the now dead man’s home when the stabbing took place.
Hassan was stabbed once to his chest with a pair of scissors. Seetaram was remanded to prison and will make his next court appearance on March 18.
