A 27-year-old man is now in a stable condition and under police guard after he was shot to the leg by ranks in an exchange of gunfire at Omai, Region Eight on Sunday afternoon.
Injured is Glenn McHardy of Half Mile, Wismar, Linden.
Inews understands that on the day in question, police noticed McHardy acting in a suspicious manner at Omai. As such, ranks approached the suspect and proceeded to conduct a search on him. However, McHardy was reluctant to cooperate and reportedly opened fire at the law enforcement officials.
This resulted in a brief exchange of gunfire which resulted in the suspect being shot once to his leg.
Police say, after the search concluded, a quantity of narcotics was found on McHardy.
Investigations are ongoing.
