[www.inewsguyana.com] – Several persons including reporters and staff from one media house on Thursday, January 16 picketed the National Assembly to voice their concerns and disapproval of the sexual abuse of Colwyn Harding, allegedly by Police Constable Singh of the Timehri Police Station.

IMG_20140116_142053The picketing exercise attracted in excess of twenty persons who held up several protest cards, bearing slogans which were sympathetic to the 23 – year – old.

It is alleged that the Police Officer forced a condom laden baton up Harding’s anus while he was in police custody in November 15, 2013.

The police have launched an investigation into the matter while the Ministry of Home Affairs has lashed out at the action of the police officer claiming that it makes a mockery of the ongoing reform process.
