Businesswoman robbed by motorcycle bandits in Kitty

Police are investigating an alleged robbery under arms committed on a 49-year-old businesswoman on Sunday evening while she was in the vicinity of Pike Street, Kitty, Georgetown.

The victim has been identified as Felicity Carmichael of North Sophia, Georgetown.

According to information received, the incident occurred at around 22:20hrs.

INews understands that Carmichael was walking in an eastern direction along Pike Street, when two unmasked men on a motorcycle rode past her and stopped in her path.

The rider reportedly whipped out a black handgun from his pants’ waist and pointed it at the businesswoman.

The bandit then ordered her to turn over her handbag which reportedly contained one Blu mobile phone, one pair of gold earrings valued $200,000 and $55,000 in cash.

This online publication was told that the suspects then fled the scene in a western direction along Pike Street.

A report of the matter was made and an investigation is ongoing. (Ramona Luthi)
