Broadcast Authority engages stakeholders

In an effort to foster cordial relations and partnerships between broadcasters and the Board of the Guyana National Broadcasting Authority (GNBA), an interactive session was held last week between TV station owners/ managers and the regulatory agency.

Among those representing the GNBA were members; Anthony Vieira, Jocelyne Josiah, Vic Insanally and Ex-Officio Member; Valmikki Singh, the Managing Director of the National Frequency Management Unit (NFMU).

During the session, the heads of the Sub-Committees of the Governing Board were introduced and details were given of each of their areas of concentration.

Specific emphasis was placed on Monitoring and Compliance in keeping with the regulatory framework. The GNBA noted that all broadcast media will be monitored based on approved guidelines. A review of those guidelines will be done in an effort to give advice on issues relating to the said guidelines.
