ABC Academy Principal charged for threatening to kill wife

[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Principal of ABC Academy was placed before the Court for assaulting and threatening to kill his wife. Fifty – three year old Bernard Chandra of Bel Air Park Georgetown pleaded not guilty to both charges before Magistrate Judy Latchman on Tuesday September 17.

The Court was told that on September 04 at Bel Air Park, the accused assaulted his wife Patricia Chandra after which he threatened to kill her. Police prosecutor Vishnu Hunt told the Court that on the day of the incident the complainant gave the accused his food which he collected and threw on the woman’s head. The prosecutor said an argument ensued during which the accused threatened to kill the woman. The prosecutor did not object to bail which was granted in the sum of $10,000 for the assault charge and $30,000 for the threatening language charge.
