23-Y-O motorcyclist dies in Wismar accident

Police in Regional Division #10, are probing a Fatal Accident that occurred at about 01:40 hrs on Saturday May 3, 2025 on Burnham Drive Public Road, Wismar, Linden, which resulted in the death of motorcyclist 23-year-old Kellom Summers of Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the motorcar PWW 2029, driven by a Lieutenant Colonel of the Guyana Defence Force, was proceeding south along Burnham Drive Public Road and in the process of negotiating a right turn, Summers who was driving motorcycle CP 6059 proceeding north allegedly at a fast rate, collided with the left side front (door) of the car.

The motorcyclist who was not wearing a safety helmet, fell onto road surface receiving injuries. He was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor.

The body of the deceased is at the Linden Senior Citizens Association Funeral Home’s Mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Both motor vehicles were lodged at the Wiumar Police Station to be examined by a licensing and certifying officer.

The driver of PWW 2029 remains in custody,
