A 23-year-old labourer of Pomona Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) has been granted bail on a child rape charge.
Troy Henry was charged with the offence of rape of a child under 16 years, which allegedly occurred on March 13.
The accused appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir, where the charge was read to him.
He was not required to plea and bail was granted in the sum of $750,000, with conditions that he report to the Aurora Police Station every Fridays, and stay 30feet away from the victim, until the outcome of the matter.
The case adjourned for April 30, 2026 disclosure of statements.
