In his bid for a second term in office, Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips, today promised Guyanese that they will reach “higher heights” under the next People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) government.
Phillips is returning on the PPP/C ticket alongside President Dr Irfaan Ali as they seek re-election at the upcoming September 1 General and Regional Elections.
At the PPP/C’s massive rally at Albion in Region Six, the Prime Minister tells Berbice residents that they have seen progress over the last five years, and this will continue over the next five years.
“Ours is a government, a visionary government, that has implemented policies that were designed to make you thrive here in Guyana… You move from surviving under the APNU to thriving under the PPP/C’s first term – 2020 to 2025, and you will go to higher heights from 2025 to 2030,” he declared.
Phillips noted that the PPP/C has injected billions of dollars in every sector, in every community across the country, and more will come to enhance the lives of Guyanese over the next five years. These plans, he added be driven by the party’s young leadership.
Reminding of the neglect youths face under APNU, the Prime Minister stressed, “We will never do that to you. Everybody that we put in positions, they are young…”
PM Phillips went on to note that the PPP/C is the only party that governs for all Guyanese and all of Guyana.
“We don’t kay who you vote for, when we bring development it’s for everybody…shared prosperity…together for a better Guyana…a continuation of growth for all Guyanese… That is what we stand for. That is what we delivered, and that is what we will continue to deliver in the next five years,” Phillips stated.
