[www.inewsguyana.com] – The West Indies have managed to humble tournament host’s Bangladesh by 73 runs at the Shere Bangla Stadium as action in the World Twenty20 Championship continued.

Marking their first win in the series, the defending champions made 171/7 after being asked to bat first.

Opener Dwayne Smith hammered a top score of 72 from 43 balls to take the man of the match award while fellow opener Chris Gayle scored an uncharacteristic run-a-ball 48.

After the partnership bore a fruit of 97 runs, Smith departed and so did most of the West Indians as they stumbled to 171. Young Seamer Al-Amin Hossain grabbed three for 21, in the last over.

Another successful bowling day for Krishmar Santokie produced early wickets which was to the pleasure of captain Darren Sammy as he ended with 3 wickets.

However, the leg-spin of Samuel Badree picked up four for 15.
