Vendor remanded to prison following robbery charge

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A vendor of Charlotte Street, Georgetown was refused bail by Magistrate Ann McLennan on larceny from person and robbery charges.

Thirty – two – year-old Seon Davis pleaded not guilty to both charges, one of which alleged that on April 16 at Croal Street, Georgetown, he stole one gold chain from Annalisa Ross valued $150,000.

Particulars of the other charge alleged that on the same day in Georgetown, being in the company of persons unknown, he robbed Roopchand Naraj of one gold chain valued $300,000.

Police Prosecutor, Dinero Jones told the Court that the defendant had a similar robbery matter in another Court.

However, the accused denied ever being charged and placed before any Court prior to this occasion.

He was nevertheless remanded to prison and the case was put off to May 8.
