[www.inewsguyana.com] – Three persons narrowly escaped death Wednesday morning (January 8) after a truck slammed into a car and canter lorry on the Walton Hall Public Road, Essequibo Coast.

According to reports the truck and car were negotiating a sharp turn when the accident occurred. Further investigation indicated that after the truck hit the car, the driver apparently lost control and slammed into a canter that was approaching.

Reports indicated that the passengers in the car, Seeram Polastraj and son ‘Eon’ along with the driver ‘Gibbs’ were rushed to the Suddie Hospital. The father and son were treated for cuts and bruises and sent home but the driver who suffered serious injuries to his head and face was admitted and is still under observation.

Denroy Reid who was sitting in the front seat of the canter recalled that after the truck hit the car, it headed with speed towards their vehicle. He said all he and the driver could have done was to sit still and await the impact. Luckily they were not injured.
