Pomeroon man feared drowned – after boat hits Ballahoo he was travelling in

The Guyana Police Force said a man is currently in custody as the search continues for Mohamed Shameer, 57 years, of Jacklow, Upper Pomeroon, who was crossing the Pomeroon River in a Ballahoo when his vessel was struck by another boat powered by an outboard engine. The Police said Shameer has not yet been located and is feared drowned.

The incident reportedly occurred about 20:00hrs on Monday April 25, 2016,
 Police said the driver of the other boat has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
