The Ministry of Health over the weekend successfully delivered essential medical supplies to the Moraikobai Health Centre along the Mahaicony River through the use of drone technology, marking another significant step in strengthening healthcare access for remote communities.

This innovative delivery demonstrates the Government of Guyana’s commitment to leveraging modern technology to overcome geographical barriers and ensure that critical medicines and medical supplies reach communities in a timely and efficient manner.

The drone-enabled delivery system has the potential to significantly improve healthcare logistics, particularly in emergency situations and hard-to-reach areas, where traditional transportation methods may be challenged by distance, terrain, or weather conditions.

By integrating advanced drone technology into the healthcare supply chain, the Ministry of Health is enhancing service delivery, reducing response times, and improving access to essential healthcare resources for residents in hinterland and riverine communities.

This initiative forms part of the Government’s broader vision of building a resilient, equitable, and future-ready healthcare system that ensures no community is left behind in accessing quality healthcare services.
