Mocha resident accused of marijuana trafficking remanded

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 34 – year – old man accused of trafficking marijuana was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Wednesday, April 22.

Junior Flue denied the allegation, which stated that on April 21 at Lot 172 Mocha, East Bank Demerara, he had in his possession 63 grammes of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

Flue’s Attorney, Paul Fung-a-Fat told the court that his client was not found with any illegal substance. He asserted that the police were pursuing a man through the defendant’s yard, whilst firing shots. According to the lawyer, the police, after losing track of the man went into the defendant’s home and informed him of the allegation. Bail was refused and the matter was transferred before Magistrate Fabayo Azore for May 7.
