Twenty-six-year-old Dinesh Sookram, also known as “Pakaloo,” a miner from Parika, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) who had been missing since March 6, has been found, according to the police.

Police stated that on Monday, a Detective Sergeant and a Constable conducted searches at Puruni Backdam, and one day later, the missing man was located at Puruni Landing, alive and well.

During questioning, Sookram stated that he had a disagreement with his previous employer at Mara Mara Backdam, after which he relocated to Thomas Island Backdam to work with another miner.

When asked why he had not contacted his family, he explained that he did not have a phone. Sookram is presently on his way home.
