Man shot during home invasion at Bath Settlement

crime[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 26-year-old man is now nursing a gunshot wound to his foot after bandits invaded his home at  Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice.

According a police report at approximately 01:30 hrs on October 17, Umgrie Parmanand,  was aroused by the sound of persons in his home.

Police say two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, had entered the home through an open window and held up Parmanand, his wife and son.

The son, Latchman Parmanand, was shot during the confrontation.

 The perpetrators took away an undisclosed sum of cash and a quantity of jewellery and escaped.

Parmanand has been admitted to hospital as the investigations continue.
