Twelve Guyanese nationals were deported from the United States of America to Guyana on Tuesday April 21, 2026.
Upon arrival, all twelve individuals were interviewed and profiled by the relevant authorities.
Following the processing exercise, ten of the deportees were released into the care and custody of relatives, with the understanding that they are to return on a later date.
A 42-year-old male, whose address is currently unknown and a 35-year-old male of no fixed address, are presently in police custody in relation to the offences of murder and domestic violence, respectively, for which they were deported.
The matter was handled in keeping with established procedures.
